1. List of Materials and Tools to be supplied by the organizer for IPT only.
1. Balsa wood 5 mm x 5 mm x 1000 mm
- Light weight balsa wood 10 pieces
- Medium weight balsa wood 10 pieces
- you have to decide which combination that will give your team the lightest and strongest bridge structures
2. AO paper - 2 pieces (...pssstt... you may also pre-make or bring your own pre-printed real size 1200mm bridge on AO paper of the bridge elevation, so that it can become a a stencil for bridge making and glueing)
3. Pencil and rubber eraser
4. Black paper - 1 piece (for the bridge deck)
5. Plywood A4 - 2 pieces (A4 size) for cutting plate
6. White A4 paper
7. A3 size frame (for poster)... see item 9 below..
List of Materials and Tools to be prepared by the participant of IPT (bring along to UTM-Skudai)
1. Glue
2. Cutter Blade, scisors
3. Ruler (bring the longest ruler that you have) and retractable measuring tape
4. Calculator
5. Colour pencil
6. Protractor
7. Angle
8. Masking tape (for temporary fixing the model during assembly)
9. A3 poster of your bridge model (...this must be the colourfull one)
10. Thread (kite thread - benang jepon,.. please don't use nylon)
2. Accomodation
- The organizer have prepared 599 place at university hostel (295 for boys/man and 304 for girls/women) with a fee of RM10 perhead for twin sharing room. Go directly to registration counter at DSI on arrival, we will guide you to your accomodation.
-We will also provide a minimum coach (bus) for convinience traveling if you don't own the vehicle during the competition.
3. Read Program Tentative
The Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has been organizing the bi-annual bridge model testing competition since the late 90’s. The overwhelming support and interest shown by the students have encouraged the Faculty to organize the competition this year. This will be the 8th time such event is organized. The aim of the competition is to encourage students to use knowledge and creativity to solve practical problems.
